There has never been a more difficult time to find a job than the current times that we are in. Considering that there are so many ways to get hired through social media and freelancing sites you’d expect a lot of people to get work but for some reason, this seems impossible. From my understanding, it takes about 200 rejections for someone to land a job using LinkedIn or Indeed and this is even the case for those who have paid for premiums to be more visible to recruiters.

Finding a job is not easy, especially one that is steady, I know because I have been there. So today I compiled a list of websites that might solve this problem for you. This is not to say that these sites have no challenges of their own so please do not treat them that way. Please note that none of these sites paid to appear in this article. Now let’s look at them.

1. Himalayas

Himalayas is a remote job board that focuses on providing a user-friendly job search experience. It is designed to help job seekers find new jobs efficiently and directly communicate with the hiring companies. They have over 3,153 remote companies hiring on their platform and over 18,236 jobs listed as of the writing of this article. The beautiful part about Himalayas is they do not charge job seekers or companies for standard job postings. However, companies must pay $200 for a pinned job post.

As a job seeker, you can create your profile and share your job search status, showcase your skills and preferences, set salary expectations upfront, match with relevant jobs, save jobs, and apply later for free! The site even has a blog section where they post advice for everyone which is also free, overall, the site has a great user experience so there is no reason why you shouldn’t try it out.

2. Dynamite Jobs

Another great platform for remote work is Dynamite Jobs, according to their website, Dynamite Jobs was founded in 2017 to showcase unique jobs from companies with remote-first values. Ever since then, they have helped over 1000 job candidates find jobs. This platform is 100% free for job seekers but they do charge employers a $99 per month fee to post as many jobs as they want which keeps it fair and balanced for everyone. You can subscribe to get alerts for when new job opportunities are available for you to apply.

As an individual seeking remote work, you can simply sign up, create your profile, browse jobs, and apply for jobs all for free but since they charge employers for some services this can somewhat make finding work a tad bit difficult. They provide employers with a list of qualified job seekers to accelerate the hiring process so be sure to have a well-presented profile with an impressive CV/resume for a better chance at landing a job.

3. We Work Remotely

We Work Remotely just like the other options is a completely free platform for job seekers and only charges employers. All the jobs posted on this platform are 100% remote, so you do not have to travel or anything of that sort. On the platform, you can find work in design, programming, marketing, management, and more. Though the platform does seem to be more focused on tech-related jobs only they do have work in many other categories such as management, finance, sales, and customer service, on top of that these categories have sub-categories which range from entry-level jobs to executive work. Another bonus is that the platform has global opportunities.

4. Skip The Drive

Skip The Drive is another platform like the three that are mentioned above. The only difference with this option is that they do not require registration for job seekers making it free of charge for them. However, businesses/employers must pay $99 per job posting and the job listing stays active for 30 days, if the employer is dissatisfied, they can get a refund which makes it fair on their end. This also works to the job seeker’s advantage as you are likely to come across job listings and see new options quite frequently.

To stay up to date you can subscribe to their newsletter to get updates and to find a job you simply type into the search bar what you are looking for or browse their categories. When you find something that you are interested in you can read through it and click “apply for this position” or you will be led to a Google Forms page depending on the employer. Simply follow the steps on each employer’s post and wait for their response.

5. Hire Tech Ladies

This one as the title suggests is reserved for women who are in tech and has more than 100,000 members, they provide services to help women in all areas of tech including engineering, design, product management, marketing, and more. If you want to learn, network, and grow your career this platform will work great for you, interest in the tech industry has been on the rise lately and for years it has been a male-dominated sector. With the use and help of Tech Ladies, you can set yourself up for a career in the industry and join a community of amazing women making an impact worldwide.

The platform offers hiring services that include a job board and candidate database for organizations looking to hire. There are two membership types with this platform one is free, and the other is pro. Their free membership gives you access to exclusive and general Invitations to webinars and industry intel through their weekly email newsletter. You also gain visibility into their job postings that are only available to members. You get access to their online community, where you can swap ideas with thousands of fellow members around the world.

Their pro membership offers two payment options a quarterly plan and an annual plan which cost $237 for the quarterly plan and $708 for the annual plan. This is more expensive than LinkedIn but if you have the money, you can try the pro membership, you can always start with the free membership to test the waters.

Conclusion.

Job hunting is not an easy task but fortunately, there are so many wonderful platforms that care about job seekers and provide value and opportunities at no cost. I wish you all the best in your job-hunting journey and I hope you find what you are looking for. Stay blessed.
