Today anyone can make money from almost anything online, no matter what it is there is a way to monetise it. The beautiful thing about making money online is that you can start with anything as small as your smartphone and an internet connection. Some businesses do not even need a big investment or inventory and you start earning from your little investment. Please note that none of these options are easy and you will not make money overnight but with patience and perseverance, your life can change if you're willing to work and wait for the results.

1. Create A Blog

A blog is what you are reading right now, starting, and running a blog is not expensive because you can buy a domain/website (.com) with as little as one dollar from platforms like GoDaddy or Namecheap (we use Namecheap to run this site). Do extensive research before starting your blog.

You need to know your target audience and your niche/topic/category before you start your blog. You can get traffic (visitors) by placing ads on platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube and TikTok. Competition amongst bloggers is real so be sure to stand out. If you already have a following on social media, you can advertise your blog to your followers or write content you think they might be interested in.

To monetise your blog, you can use AdSense, which is the best method, but there are many alternatives depending on your location since AdSense is not available to everyone. It is also important to watch out for AdSense copycats that promote malicious ads or do not pay you for the ad space used on your site.

How much you earn with platforms like AdSense depends on various factors such as the location of your viewers, the topics you cover and how much traffic you generate. You can also monetise through affiliate marketing, brand sponsorships, custom ad placements and more.

2. Start Dropshipping/Store

Please note that dropshipping has become a flooded means of making money online so you truly need to stand out and be strategic otherwise you will not make a cent and lose all your investment. Dropshipping is an order fulfilment method in which you do not hold stock of the items you are selling. Instead, you fulfil orders by purchasing goods from a third party, usually a wholesaler or manufacturer such as Alibaba. You essentially work as a middleman between the wholesaler and the buyer.

Through dropshipping, you create a website/store and list the product(s) you are selling and whenever a customer makes an order, you buy from the wholesaler and then ship it directly to your customer. We recommend you increase your knowledge through Oberlo (not sponsored), a program from Shopify through their website and YouTube channel. You can create your store using Shopify.

However, dropshipping is not easy and neither is it easy to stand out and grow a dropshipping business, so you could start a business that borrows ideas from dropshipping and traditional business methods. The other option is to just create a traditional brick-and-mortar store selling products that are either unique or at a much lower price than your competition to give your potential clients a reason to buy from you.

Since this is a business, it can take more than a year or two for you to start generating profits.

3. Start A YouTube Channel

YouTube is one of the best ways to generate income online. Depending on your niche you'll need different equipment to start, for example, if you're a vlogger you'll need a camera that can do vlogs. If you're into tech or storytelling you might need a camera and a mic to record, you and the products in your video. It would help if you also had editing software for audio and video. You can use CapCut for video editing on both mobile and desktop and you can use Lexis Audio Editor for recording on mobile or Audacity for both recording and editing on desktop.

To start earning on YouTube you need to surpass 1000 subscribers and 4000 hours of watch time which is very possible to accomplish within six to twelve months or less depending on your strategy and content quality. YouTube is not easy in any way but with patience and dedication, you can make the dream work. You can also use tools such as Vid-IQ and TubeBuddy to help you in growing your channel.

4. Start Forex Trading

Disclaimer: Many forex trading scams have risen over time so avoid paying for courses instead use the free and publicly available resources, learn for about a year, and practice with a demo account. Most importantly practice patience.

Forex trading is the most rewarding of all on this list but not always because it depends on your strategy, psychology, and patience. You can start trading forex with as little as one dollar but if you're going to do this you better have lots of money that you're willing to lose, for example, a small account typically needs about $500 to start. In forex trading, it's easier to make more losses than profits and there is no overnight success.

It is important to do your research and learn before you get into real trading. Forex trading can be super frustrating both mentally and emotionally, so you need to be prepared. Do not chase the hype you see on social media and stay focused on your goals, be disciplined.

5. Sell Services

If you have a skill or two you can sell services to people around the world on platforms such as Fiverr or Upwork. You could be a writer, singer, graphic designer, web developer or artist. The list is endless, and you can offer services through your skill and start earning. Selling services on Fiverr has its requirements like a good portfolio, ranking on the platform that you're selling on, time and patience so just like everything else it's not easy. Besides selling services, you can turn your skill into a business, advertise it on social media and create a website where clients can find you. You can also teach your skills on YouTube and earn from there.

6. Become A Content Creator

Content creation is not easy however its long-term results are worth it. You can be a full-time or part-time content creator depending on your situation (school and work). Content creation runs just like any other business, you need to invest time, money, and a lot of patience for you to start generating good income. Thanks to the availability of various social media platforms as a creator you have various means of monetisation through affiliate marketing, brand partnerships and monetisation on the platform itself for example YouTube.

We hope this helps and that you can make use of the information. But if you did not find anything useful in this article, keep searching and we pray you’ll manage to find something suitable for you.
