Most people are in constant search of a side hustle to gain some extra income to pay for bills, groceries and so forth. In this articles you will find a list of apps that can help you gain some extra money for completing small tasks while some require some time and strength. These apps are not rich quick methods but they can help you earn some money to pay for some of your bills and necessities.

Some of them may not be your cup of coffee so go with what you find most suitable for you. If you don't find any apps you can use, be sure to check out the recommended articles at the bottom, I will also write about more ways to make money from home in future.

1. Foap

Foap is a marketplace where brands, businesses and artists meet, by artists we mean photographers to be specific. On Foap you can sell the photos you take on your phone or camera to well-known brands.

Businesses and well-known brands often buy images for commercial use. They might need photos to advertise their products, use on their website, or include in company brochures.

To sell your photos on Foap you upload them to the app and any business or brand can search for the type of pictures they need and you get paid when they select your photos. Photos sell for about $10 and Foap takes 50% as their cut.

You can also make money by completing challenges set up by brands which can pay even up to $100 dollars per challenge! However, it's not easy to sell on Foap due to competition and the low offers you get. Success is not guaranteed but you can give it a try.

Foap is available on both iOS and Android and it works internationally.

2. Google Opinion Rewards

If you are looking for a way to make money by completing surveys Google Opinion Rewards might be the one for you. With Google Opinion Rewards, you'll take surveys that are run by market researchers. Survey frequency may vary, and you don't have to answer every survey you receive. In exchange the app will provide Google Play credits. On Android these credits can be used to buy paid apps on Google PlayStore and other Google services, while on iOS users are paid through PayPal. To qualify you must be 18 years or older and in an eligible country.

3. Sweatcoin

To make money with Sweatcoin you have to download the app, sign up and then add your health and fitness information to the app including your GPS location. Once you are done the apps will track your movement and for every one thousand steps, you get a payout.

You basically get paid to walk however the payout is not a crazy amount and it's in Sweat Coin which is their cryptocurrency. To convert this Sweat Coin into money you must look for buyers who are normally found on Discord and Reddit. Sweatcoin might not be an option if you don't walk much. And also the inconvenience of having to find people who are willing to buy the Sweatcoin.

4. AttaPoll

Just like Google Opinion Rewards, AttaPoll pays you for completing surveys on your phone. The advantage AttaPoll has on Google Opinion Rewards is that users on Android can also get paid through PayPal and you can also get paid in cryptocurrency if that is your wish.

The disadvantages of AttaPoll are that the payouts are low, you might get screened out while performing a survey, there are a few surveys available and you might get disqualified depending on your profile.

The app is free to download and is available on both iOS and Android but you must be in an eligible country to join.

5. iBotta

iBotta essentially pays you to shop, you complete tasks by buying products and giving them proof of purchase and you can cash back and coupons to use on your next purchase.

When you sign up on their app you'll have to navigate to the offers section to start earning and you'll see the available offers and choose the one that you prefer and when you've completed it you'll get your payout.

There are not that many disadvantages of iBotta so it's worth giving it a try and it's free to download you can also cash out at a minimum of $20. This app is only available in the United States.

6. Shiftsmart

This app can connect you with part-time jobs that pay between $10 and $20 per hour which is a good payout for an hour's worth of labour. To join Shiftsmart you must be in an eligible country and 18 years old or older.

The disadvantage of Shiftsmart is that there have been complaints of people not being paid for their work and we can blame their accounting team for that. You can still try it if you'd like. It's available in more than 50 countries.

7. Acorns

This app helps you save and invest your spare change by rounding up your purchases and automatically investing the difference in a diverse portfolio. You can also earn cash back for shopping at partner brands and retailers. Acorns offers different subscription tiers for your life’s financial needs from as little as $5 through your debit or credit card. With Acorns you can create a personal investing account, retirement account or even a investment account for your kids! This exclusively for Americans.

8. Mercari

This app is a marketplace where users can sell their unwanted items, such as clothes, electronics, books, and more. You can set your own prices and shipping options, and Mercari takes a 10% fee from each sale. They accept many forms of payment methods which increases your chances of making money. It is a Japanese/American company so it is not be available for everyone.

9. Robinhood

This app allows users to invest in stocks, ETFs, cryptocurrencies, and more, without paying any commission fees. You can also earn free stocks by inviting their friends to join. The app is designed to be a beginner-friendly platform so if you do not know how to invest they can help you understand how it all works so that you make informed decisions. From what I gathered this app is only available in the United States.

10. Field Agent

Field Agent uses the smartphones of shoppers across the United States, South Africa, Australia, Canada, Mexico and the United Kingdom to help brands, retailers, restaurants, and agencies spot, fix, sell, learn, and grow their businesses. This app pays you to complete small tasks, such as taking photos, checking prices, or answering questions, at local stores and businesses. You can browse and accept available jobs in your area, and get paid via PayPal or direct deposit.
